Consumers are looking for stand up tanning beds now more than ever before for reasons ranging from safety to size, and of course the associated costs. Consumer tanning beds often start out as a luxury, and usually quickly turn in to nightmares, especially in lay down beds when some of the bulbs go out. Also when looking at consumer tanning beds, finding a location usually means converting an entire room to a tanning room. This is not the case with stand up tanning beds because they are small enough to fit in any room and come with an optional concealed changing room attached.

A friend of mine had a lay down tanning bed that she used all the time until she had to replace the bottom array of lights. Now she does tans one side at a time and then flips over. This is no way to tan and is not problem for a stand up booth because of the freedom to move around if you are waiting for a few bulbs to be replaced. Tanning bed bulbs replacement is also easier because there is no plastic that needs to be removed each time because stand up booths protect their bulbs with a thin sturdy metal mesh material.
